Research and pedagogy in the arts: ESDAPC present in Budapest at a leading international forum

Research and pedagogical innovation at ESDAPC continue to expand their international reach. On May 29, Dr. Alba García-Martínez, sculptor and lecturer at the Pau Gargallo Campus, participated as a speaker at the 9th edition of the ELTE Workshop for Arts Education, held in Budapest (Hungary) and organized by Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).

Considered one of the leading international spaces in the field of arts pedagogy, this year’s congress was organized around the theme “Art and Society: Interdisciplinary dialogues for equity, healing and community”, bringing together specialists from around the world to reflect on the role of visual arts and arts education in the face of contemporary social challenges and their impact on collective and individual well-being.

In this context, Alba García-Martínez’s intervention took place within the track dedicated to visual arts, creation, and processes of self-expression in the construction of identity. Her presentation highlighted innovative methodologies that integrate artistic language and play as critical tools for social and pedagogical transformation.

The participation created a space for dialogue with international researchers and demonstrated the commitment of ESDAPC faculty to research and the development of new learning frameworks that connect the practice of fine arts and design with the needs and sensibilities of today’s society.

With this presence in Budapest, ESDAPC reinforces the importance of faculty mobility and knowledge transfer within the field of institutional artistic research, while positioning the educational model of its campuses in top-tier European debate forums.
