The Martí 1913 Foundation now has a graphic identity: the verdict of the competition promoted with ESDAPC is announced.

Last Wednesday, May 27, the verdict of the design competition for the graphic identity of the Martí 1913 Foundation was announced. This initiative, launched by Mosaics Martí in collaboration with ESDAPC, invited students and alumni to conceptualize the visual identity of an institution rooted in heritage but oriented towards the future.

The competition, which received about twenty proposals, presented the challenge of building an identity capable of engaging with the foundational values—tradition, innovation, heritage, art, and international projection—through a contemporary language adaptable to multiple contexts.

The winning proposal was The art we tread, the future we will create, by Nerea Iznájar Blázquez. The jury highlighted its conceptual solidity and its ability to translate the references of hydraulic mosaic into a coherent, versatile, and forward-looking visual identity. The proposal will become the official image of the Martí 1913 Foundation across its various fields of activity.

The jury also awarded two honorable mentions to projects that offered complementary and high-level formal and conceptual interpretations: Preserving tradition. Shaping the future, by Nil Moreno Granado, and We cement a new vision, by Mariam Chikhaoui.

The evaluation process was conducted anonymously and considered both the conceptual quality and formal resolution of the proposals, as well as their viability and real implementation capacity. The jury comprised professionals from diverse backgrounds, including design, architecture, art history, and writing, along with representatives from Mosaics Martí and ESDAPC.

The award ceremony was led by Albert Martí, director of Mosaics Martí, and Ricard Roura, director of ESDAPC. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in connecting emerging talent with the professional sector and contributing to the construction of new visual narratives through design.

With this project, ESDAPC reinforces its commitment to education linked to real contexts and with the capacity for impact, fostering the development of proposals that connect heritage and contemporaneity and position design as an active tool in redefining its cultural significance.
